Last month, OSET Bikes invited Blue Peter along to see what trials riding for kids is all about. The results will be aired this Thursday 08th October at 5pm on CBBC.

Filmed on location at Deepcliffe Farm in West Yorkshire, the two novice presenters were introduced to the basics, by expert extreme Enduro rider Dan Hemingway.

He said: “It was a really fun day. Barney and Radzi got on really well with the bikes. Although Barney comes from a road bike background, anyone involved in off-road motorcycles knows that they are two very different disciplines. Fair play to the boys, they tackled everything we gave them to go at – including riding over a car!”

Supporting Dan was a cast of youngsters including, Oliver, for whom the first ever OSET was built by his dad Ian. OSET actually stands for Oliver Smith Electric Trials. Joining him were the Horne brothers, Dominic, Alexander and Matthew, Oliver’s younger brother Elliot, Harry and George Hemingway, leading British female rider, Sophie Bailey and Bradford rider, Myles Hutchinson.

Ian Smith, founder and CEO of OSET Bikes, said of the day: “Filming with Blue Peter is a real highlight of our year. We do our best to support grass roots, youth trials and anything we can do to introduce this fantastic sport to as many youngsters as possible is our ultimate aim! To have trials riding featured on the world’s longest running children’s TV programme is an amazing achievement.

“The kids all had a great time, Barney and Radzi were fantastic and everyone involved came away with a coveted Blue Peter badge!”
