Cornwall OSET Cup 2022 Round 3
24th September 2022
(Summer / Autumn Series)
NEWCOMER CHARLIE TIERNEY
The Camborne and Redruth MC held the third round of the Cornwall OSET Cup at the United Downs Raceway, St Day on Saturday 24th September. Again, we welcomed two new riders, 6 yr Charlie Tierney and 4yr Bobby Wales. 30 riders then tackled three laps of eight sections all made up from disused mine workings which in the dry and sunny conditions kept scores low and some clean sheets along with clean bikes and riders. On the hard course Josh Dustow out for the first time on the hard course had a great ride losing just 24 marks to next man Andrew Hancock on 33.
24R WINNER JACK KILBY
The newly introduced OSET 24 class with sections midway between medium and hard to test riders on OSET 24 bikes saw Jack Kilby, William Bloomfield, Dexter Tripconey and Isabel Polkinghorne have a close battle with Kilby who remained clean on sections 1-4 each lap thereby claiming the win on 19 with Bloomfield 22 Tripconey 24 and Isabel 30. Star on the medium course was 7-year Charlie Riddell who posted a clean sheet in his group and Cody Holloway the lone 8-year-old also remained clean. On the easy course scores were again close in the 6-year class with a three-way battle between Archer Tripconey, Rupert Sheppard and Jenson Daw. Tripconey and Sheppard eventually tied on 29 marks apiece with Daw losing out at section 5, a tricky series of humps and banks, where he lost 3 and the others remained clean.
