What can you tell us about the new bikes?

OSET CORP CEO - IAN SMITH:

We are releasing two new models at the end of 2023. The first releases will be completely new 20" and 24" bikes. These are total, ground­ up redesigns with new and next-level technology applied.

Out of hundreds of components in each bike, only two will be shared with the old bike -and they're both very small items. The bikes will include the latest specification lithium batteries, high-efficiency brushless motors and controllers.

New tyres designed by OSET will be fitted with optimal chassis layout and custom-specification air suspension.

Fully adjustable settings, on-board diagnostics, and a two-signal throttle. With optional seat units that are fully integrated, the bikes can be full-on trials models or supreme play bikes. They will be ridiculous fun and are incredibly intuitive to ride."

What makes them so much better?

OSET CORP CEO - IAN SMITH:

"Everything a designer would try to achieve; including more power, more torque through the rev range, longer run times, lighter weight, better handling and better suspension. We have reached the point where we can move away from off-the-shelf componentry and design what we want, dedicated for our purpose. For example, brush motors have been great for us through the years, they have a lot of torque, but it runs out quickly. They set off well on a steep hill but can't accelerate on the way up; they are quite simple beasts with simple controllers. Throttle response was inevitably a bit jerky, and although this teaches great throttle control, it is not optimum. The new drive system is as smooth as silk; it is more powerful, with torque over a massively wider range but much smoother. They're probably the easiest bikes in the world to wheelie, and the rider can do loads of fun tricks that weren't possible before!"

And a seat?

OSET CORP CEO - IAN SMITH:

"An optional seat, yes! They are trials bikes 100%, but there is a full subframe and seat unit that can be fitted in five minutes. It makes the bike huge fun for ripping around, jumping and exploring just as you like."

The OSET 24 is aimed at the Junior and entry level trials market, and is able to compete in the all Junior Classes 7-U11, 9-U13, 12-U16 & Senior Clubman and C Grade classes. It features 17” x 3.5” rear and 19” x 2.5" front trials tyres. The rear wheel offers superior traction for competition trials situations. The suspension is set up for young riders with a recommended maximum weight of 61kgs but optional springs take it up to 91kg riders for those MTB Trail blasters and trick riders out there!

This is NOT just a trials bike for Juniors and can be sprung for adults up to 90kg. This is possibly the most fun electric bike ever created, and appeals to a vast range of ages and riding interests. From youth and adult trials riders, to mountain bikers, to parents following their youngsters, to a cool pit bike, to a back garden training machine. This machine suits so many!

The OSET controller is a high-power unit and features the familiar 3-dial adjustability, so the power, speed and response are fully adjustable to suit the rider. The OSET magnetic lanyard adds a level of safety and is competition legal.

The OSET 24 is unbeaten against the 80cc geared bikes in back-to-back D-Class Medium wheel UK National competition. It is the perfect step up from the 20.0R.

At the same time, the adjustability allows the bike to be used in more gentle situations, with learner riders taking their first steps into the world of motorcycles.
